Getting Parents Up To Speed On New School Technology

Dallastown: Schooling Parents on New Technology

Angie Mason | February 17, 2016

In a library classroom at Dallastown Area Intermediate School on Tuesday night, parents logged into their students' school accounts and learned how to access apps and take a quiz in their Google Classroom.
"However long it takes us to learn this, usually the kids learn it twice as fast," said Brandon Walker, a fifth-grader math and social studies teacher, as the parents navigated their Chromebooks.
This year, sixth-graders at Dallastown Area Intermediate School were each assigned a Chromebook to use daily and take home if they wish. In fourth and fifth grades, there's a Chromebook for about every two students to use during school.
