Braille a Pathway to Literacy

A few years ago the New York Times published an article discussing the importance of braille literacy which contained critical points and useful information regarding the importance of braille.
Here is a brief summary of some of those findings.
Less than 10 percent of the 1.3 million visually impaired people read braille. In today’s age of technology it makes sense people are somewhat shying away from it. Braille books are large and expensive and there are many alternative technologies to read and communicate besides the written word.
