Apple TV May Support Augmented Reality Games With This New Accessory

Apple has acquired a patent related to 3D imaging that hints at an accessory for Apple TV

Patently Apple reports that Apple Inc. has successfully obtained a new patent related to 3D imaging. This is just one of 31 patents the US Patent and Trademark Office has recently granted the company.
The 3D imaging patent is related to all the devices, methods, and software that are used to extract information from the depth maps. These maps reveal information about measure of distance between objects from a viewpoint in 3D imaging, which is used in apps based on 3D technology as well as in video games.
