Will Virtual Reality (VR) Need 10 Years To Establish Itself In The Mass Market?

Mark Zuckerberg Thinks VR Will Take 10 Years To Reach Mass Market

Tyler Lee | March 29, 2016

So in 2016, we will be seeing the release of at least two virtual reality headsets – the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. There is also the possibility that the PlayStation VR could be launched this year, but that will be revealed on the 15th of March during Sony’s PlayStation VR event. That being said, with so many headsets being released this year, that’s good news for virtual reality, right?
Perhaps so, but according to Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, he believes that virtual reality still has a very, very long way to go before it hits mass market. In fact according to Zuckerberg, he thinks it will take 10 years before the technology reaches mass market. Speaking to Business Insider in an interview, Zuckerberg offered up an estimation for the technology.
