Checking 'things' Out: Library Offers Bakeware and Gadgets to Accompany those How-to Books

...Now, a slew of "things" available at both the Hillsboro Main and the Shute Park branch library is redefining what libraries are made of.

"There is so much interest and curiosity for new things that people cannot access on their own without a large investment, or even a time investment for reviewing these products," said Kate Ayres, library assistant at the Hillsboro Main Library on Brookwood Parkway [Oregon].
Nearly 40 new items — from technology games to ice cream makers to apple peelers — will soon be available for check out.
